CKC Scrapbook Convention in Nashville

I'm back from Nashville and I'm kicking myself for not taking my camera - bad blogger, bad!  However, I had my phone and I snapped as many pictures as I could of the hotel and downtown (it takes forever to snap a picture and get ready for the next one, so it's kind-of a pain).  I'm working on downloading them, but till then I have these pictures below showing some of the items I purchased from the convention.

Please excuse the mess - it's not in any particular order.  I was super excited to go through all my new goodies so I dumped out all the bags on my table.

I love this pile of brads from the Eyelet Outlet.  I remember their booth from the Georgia Scrapbook Expo last year and I was excited to see them again.
Stamplistic had these beautifully TALL nutcrackers.

Cri-kits is something I've seen before and I hee-hawed around trying to decide if it was something I would use.  I went to their booth 3 times before I decided to give it a go.  (Between you and me ... as the day went on, I spent less and less time deciding if I really needed something and more time buying everything I could see.)

The green and red ornament in the left-hand corner is the only make-and-take I participated in.  It was from Stampin UP.  I placed and order for one of their stamp and die collections. Same with the Close to my Heart booth - I placed an order for one of their packages that had sold out.

Loved the booth for PK Glitz.  I *heart* Glitter Glitz.  I purchased the cute little frog in a wizard's hat that was on display (not pictured).

SEI had a packet that was sealed up and you could purchase it for a discounted price.  I think that's why I wanted it. . .  so I could open it!  And I am thrilled with everything in it.

Love, love, love Huckleberry Pond paper.  I purchased a couple of their LOs.  I also ordered a couple LO's from another booth whose name escapes me right now. . .   Come to think of it (and checking my receipts), I placed a LOT of orders. Probably because I wasn't there Friday and by Saturday some items had sold out. Thank goodness many of them I COULD order!

Scrapbook Convention Nashville

I'm going to Nashville, y'all!

Since I missed the Georgia Expo this year, I started looking for something else I could attend within driving distance.  I didn't have to look too far to find something to do in its place.  There is the CKC Scrapbook Convention in Nashville, and I found the information here. The convention is this weekend and I'll be staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  The hotel is offering specials for anyone attending the convention.  I'm ober excited because I've never been to Nashville.  I know several people who have stayed at this hotel, and they say it is massive.

Can't wait till the road trip this weekend!

Scrapbook Expo

These pictures are from my first Scrapbook Expo in 2011 - it was awesome! It was held at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.  Last year I mostly just walked around for a couple of hours and visited the booths.  I learned so much in such a short period of time and the deals and items for purchase were amazing.  My town only has 2 arts and crafts stores, so you can imagine my disappointment when I missed the Expo this year.
Below is a picture of the only 'make & take' I participated in. It was at the Scrapbook Fun Addicts booth. My dragon came out a little cross-eyed, so I added the googlie eyes when I got home.

I bought a few set of stamps. .. (I can't remember the name of the booth, I think it was Tall Mouse, but I could be wrong.)
Then I bought more stamps from Close to my Heart. They were a little more expensive than what I'm use to, but I hear they are made of a wonderful quality and I've enjoyed them.
Then I picked up a ton of brads and eyelets (this is just a few of them) from the Eyelet Outlet and the round & square things (I forget what they are called) in the bottom right corner came from another vendor.  Love, love, love these for ribbon.
There were a lot of booths dedicated to scrapbook pages. They certainly sparked my desire to get back to scrapbooking. I originally bought my cricut for scrapbooking, but I have drifted more towards cards and other projects lately. ( I have a bit of a love affair with my cricut machine.)

All this talk about the Expo has me jonesing for another show.  Maybe I should take a peak on the web to see what's nearby. . .

Brand Spankin' New

Hello!
I'm brand new to the blogger world. Actually, I'm new to all social networking sites. I don't have a Facebook page, never had a MySpace page and I only tried Twitter for about a minute. I think the whole idea of it seemed a little intimidating and like a whole lotta work. But I'm ready to take the plunge! I follow many blogs (mostly food and crafting) and my desire to participate with them has led me to setup this blog - just in time for National Scrapbook Day! Although, I missed the day because it took me a while to figure out how to set this up *blushing*.
Should you stumble upon this site and are so inclined, please leave a comment or just a note to say hello. I'm always open to new things and ideas, so pass on your recommendations for other places to visit or things to do. I'm excited to see where this takes me!
